- What to post? -

Please check first if your article meets the submissions guidelines spelled out in his charter:

Possible discussion issues include:

  • Organic synthesis reactions and mechanisms
  • Organic synthesis literature
  • Purification and analysis of organic compounds
  • Commercial availability of reagents
  • Laboratory hints
  • Laboratory safety

Some limitations apply for commercial postings (e.g. software, literature, press releases, job vacancies, etc.):
  • They must contribute to the "current awareness" of the readers.
  • The subject line must start with "Announcement:"

Every article will be reviewed by a moderator before advancing to the newsgroup sci.chem.organic.synthesis.

- How to post? -

  • News reader

    Post your article to sci.chem.organic.synthesis

  • Mail reader or WWW interface

Mail your article directly to the submission address .

The individual line length of the article should be limited to 79 characters or less if possible in order to avoid potential corruption during transport. Article size should be less than or equal to 60K to overcome hardware limitations netwide.

- FAQ's about article posting -

What are the possibilities to communicate with graphical structures?

To date, sending a combination of text and binary files creates technical difficulties in usenet and is not recommended. However, sometimes an organic chemistry discussion is not possible without analysing the structure or spectrum. Loading the graphics to a web page and putting a pointer in your article is nice way to deal with it.

Why doesn't my article appear in the newsgroup?

A reader may wish to see the article reviewed and posted even before the moderator gets to it. Please, be aware that, even with prompt moderation and barring unusual network problems, the total turnaround time can take up to 3 days.

If the article doesn't appear within four days, it highly likely that something went wrong along the way due to misconfigured local news software. Please talk first to your news server administator to find out the source. If all options have been exhausted, please contact the moderation team at info@sci-chem-organic-synthesis.net

Is there a gateway to a mailing list?

To date, no gateaway to any mailing lists is established and there are no intentions to create one unless there is a high demand for it.
